Fish Market

The working heart of Malé's harbour front, where skipjack and yellowfin tuna come off the dhonis and the cutters work at astonishing speed. It is busiest early in the morning and again in the late afternoon when the boats return. The floor is wet, so closed shoes earn their keep, and a market hotaa in the same building pours tea around the clock.
