Maagiri Hotel is a nine-floor city hotel on Boduthakurufaanu Magu, Malé's north waterfront, directly opposite the ferry terminal that links the capital to the airport and Hulhumalé.
GETTING THERE
The airport ferry docks across the road, a crossing of about ten minutes; by taxi over the Sinamalé bridge it is ten to fifteen. Complimentary airport transfers are offered; confirm yours when booking.
THE ROOMS
The four categories all come with king beds: Superior (22–24 sqm, no view) and city-facing Premier rooms, both available with twin beds on request, the ocean-view Junior Suite (41 sqm) with a separate lounge, and the Executive Suite (50 sqm) with a living area and balcony, sleeping up to four.
FOOD & FACILITIES
Faru, the second-floor restaurant, serves buffet breakfast and lunch daily and themed dinner buffets Wednesday to Saturday; Peak, the rooftop lounge, runs 4pm to midnight; and the Coffee Curve cafe sits off the lobby. There is a gym but no pool or spa, plus meeting rooms and a rooftop event terrace.
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
This is the harbour end of the city: the fish and produce markets are a few minutes' walk along the waterfront, and the Islamic Centre and Republic Square a short walk inland.
BEST FOR
Business trips, first or last nights near an early ferry or flight, and sea-view rooms in the capital itself.
GOOD TO KNOW
As Malé is an inhabited island, the hotel does not serve alcohol. Whether breakfast at Faru is included depends on your rate, so check when booking. The property is non-smoking. Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is at 12:00.
